Theme: Exploration and Practice of Talent Cultivation in Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering
Distinguished Experts and Colleagues,
As Hangzhou embraces its golden autumn—where the Qiantang tidal bore meets the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms under vast azure skies—we cordially invite scholars, industry leaders, and educators to the 2025 International Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing Education and Textbook (IMET 2025). Hosted by Hangzhou Dianzi University from 17th - 19th, Oct. 2025 (Friday - Sunday), this conference will convene at the Xiasha Campus to advance the integration of education, technology, and talent development, sharing cutting-edge practices in faculty development and high-quality talent cultivation to inject new momentum into AI-driven intelligent manufacturing innovation.
So far, this conference has been successfully hosted two editions (2023, 2024) with growing influence, IMET has become a premier international forum featuring keynote speeches by academicians including Jianrong Tan, Baoyan Duan, and Shandong Tu. The conference annually attracts over 20 deans/department chairs worldwide and focuses on three core themes: Discipline Development & Faculty Capacity Building; Textbook & Teaching Resource Development; Educational Reform & Pedagogical Innovation.
This conference is hosted by Hangzhou Dianzi University and undertaken by the National-level Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and the Zhejiang Provincial Research Base for Intelligent Manufacturing Textbooks. It will mainly adopt offline presentations as the primary format, with invited reports and oral presentations as the main forms. The conference will focus on discussing new explorations, new practices, and new concepts in the process of the development of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering majors, textbook development, and talent cultivation at home and abroad.

II. Invited Report Speakers
Professor Gu Peihua
Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (FCAE), former Executive President of Shantou University, Dean of the Zhejiang International Institute of Innovative Design and Intelligent Manufacturing (Tianjin University), and Director of the Emerging Engineering Education Center. He mainly engages in research on advanced design methods, key technologies of intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent manufacturing systems.
Professor Zhou Ming
Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE), Chair Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ningbo Dongfang University of Science and Technology. He mainly engages in research on engineering software and optimal design, and drives breakthroughs and innovations in the core technologies of engineering software through cutting-edge innovation, thereby empowering the independent innovation and enhancement of core competitiveness of China's high-end manufacturing industry.
Professor Zhao Ji
Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Northeastern University; former President of Northeastern University. He has long been engaged in research on intelligent and precision manufacturing, and currently serves as Chairman of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Mechanical Majors under the Ministry of Education (MOE) of China, and Vice President of the National Institute of Higher Education Teaching.
Professor Mohammad Zoynal Abedin
PhD., Professor, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh.
Tenured Associate Professor Wen Peng
Tenured Associate Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, and Associate Director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Tsinghua University. He teaches such courses as Engineering Materials and Lasers and Their Applications—which are designated as National Excellent Courses and National First-Class Undergraduate Courses—and has won honors including the Second Prize of Beijing Municipal Teaching Achievement Awards and the Teaching Excellence Award for Young Teachers of Tsinghua University.
Ⅲ. Topics of the Forum
The overarching theme of the conference is Exploration and Practice in Talent Cultivation for Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Programs, which will be explored through three parallel symposium topics:
1. Discipline Development and Faculty Capacity Building – Focusing on strategies for enhancing academic programs and strengthening teaching expertise in intelligent manufacturing engineering.
2. Textbook Development and Pedagogical Infrastructure – Addressing the creation of cutting-edge teaching materials and the optimization of educational resources to support hands-on learning.
3. Educational Innovation and Teaching Reform – Examining transformative approaches to curriculum design, instructional methods, and industry-aligned pedagogical practices.
